Calorie Bikes Are Brutal!

Hello Readers! This week was pretty crazy leading up to Thanksgiving Break. I was only able to attend CrossFit one day this week, despite thinking that it would not be that bad of a week. Wow, was I wrong. I did not realize how many projects, tests, and assignments I would have due throughout the week! Yet, I had to make sure that I was getting workouts in to keep a good regiment going on and to make sure I was able to destress throughout the week. I am currently on an airplane flying back to Colorado for Thanksgiving. I am super excited since I have not been home since August! I cannot wait to see my family and my dogs. While I am home, I am planning on being outside as much as I can. It started snowing pretty early in Colorado this year, so I am hoping that I can get a good break to go hit the slopes and eat some good home cooked meals with my family. If I have time, I hope that I can go visit my old CrossFit gym, Ridgeline Fitness. That is where I found CrossFit originally and hav

Hello Readers, Thank you again for tuning into another weekly report of my favorite CrossFit workout of the week. This week was about finding balance. I had a good amount of presentations and assignments this week, but no tests. What was nice about it was that I had just enough work to keep myself busy, but also not enough work to keep me from procrastinating to the max.  This was a week of great CrossFit workouts. I had lots of time to be at the gym, and now that the weather is getting colder and more rainy, this gives me even more leverage to get out of my house do something productive at the gym. Even though I am still in training for a run in February, I believe that I will focus more on time to spend inside the gym for this week as the weather continues to change. I have been doing a great job of keeping myself accountable of going on runs and going to the gym, but now I believe I should shift my focus a little more to being more strict on my CrossFit workouts.  As I have mentio

Hello Readers! I hope you all had a great weekend. This was a tremendous weekend to be a Baylor Bear because yesterday we beat The University of Oklahoma (OU) in football for the second year in a row! My friends and I drove from Waco to Norman for the game this weekend and it has been so much fun. It has been great to connect with friends that go to OU these past couple days and to represent Baylor all the way in Oklahoma.  This week, I attended a few CrossFit classes and have also been training to run the Austin Marathon in February. It has been a lot of cardio this week but I have also had lots of fun going to CrossFit as well. Like I have said in previous posts, I believe that having a good fitness balance (such as taking one day to go on a runs and the next day to go to the gym) is a great way to stay stimulated and excited about the workouts ahead. It gives you the opportunity to be social in different fitness settings and to also train your body physically in many different aspe

Happy Sunday Readers, This is Luke tuning back in for another recap of my favorite workout of the week. This week my workouts were a little different. I recently decided that I am going to focus a little bit more on building muscle mass and I am also going to train for a half marathon in February! I will be running the Austin Half marathon in three months with one of my roommates. This is going to require a lot of training but I am ready for it.  This week, I wanted to share a little bit about my strict strength training workouts. It is good to have balance when it comes to fitness and I wanted to share what I do at the gym when I am not attending CrossFit classes. Over the summer when I was working a full-time internship, I did not always have time to find classes that fit into my schedule, so I would focus on strength training on my own. On Friday, I decided that I was going to do a strength training exercise and end the day with some cardio.  Here is the workout: Warmup: 20 Body Sq

Happy Sunday readers,  This is Luke tuning in for another blog about my favorite workout of the week. I am writing this blog on Sunday afternoon, a little later than usual. That is because this weekend was Homecoming on Baylor's campus! It has been a tremendous weekend from the bonfire on Friday to beating Kansas yesterday in football. My favorite part of this weekend was that my parents came to visit me and we got to get together with my best friend's family as well. Overall, it was a very busy and successful weekend of Baylor activities.  Getting into the workout of the week, my favorite workout was Monday's workout like last week. I believe that I like Monday workouts the most because it gets me going in the right state of mind for the week. That is, it gets me off my butt to get motivated and hyped up to work hard for the week. Like I have said in previous posts, going to CrossFit gives me an outlook to destress and to work on my physical and mental well-being.  After

Happy Thursday Readers! This is Luke tuning in for another blog about CrossFit. I have decided to journal about Monday this week because of how much I enjoyed the workout. There was a lot of barbell use during yesterday's workout from the warmup to the finisher/conditioning. I am pretty sore today and have been doing a lot of hamstring and leg stretches to make sure I'm working on my flexibility and recovering my muscles.  This week I was not able to go to CrossFit as many times as I did last week as my workload has started to pick back up again. I was able to go on Monday and Wednesday but I will not be able to go tomorrow. As it is Fall Break, I am going to be going to Austin with my friends for a couple days. I will be giving my body a rest for a few days to recover from being pretty consistent with workouts for the past month. It will be nice to do something new this weekend since life has been pretty busy for the entire semester.  Here was the Workout of the Day from Mon

TGIF! Hello readers, I hope everyone is just excited for the weekend as I am. This week has been pretty laid back in comparison to last week which is nice. Most people have been taking their midterms this week, but I took all of mine last week. It seems like my test scheduling has been almost opposite to most of my friends as they have been grinding hard on studying this week while I have gotten to take a bit of a break and catch up on some stuff.  Having some time off this week has allowed me to go to more CrossFit classes than I usually do. This afternoon, I went to CrossFit and it was my favorite workout of the week, so I will be running you guys through today's workout of the day. What I liked about today's workout in comparison to Monday and Wednesday was that it was not a partner workout. It is fun to have a partner to complete the workouts sometimes, but I also just like doing things at my own pace sometimes. Today's workouts involved a lot of barbells. We did lots
